Blog Tour NOLA - Meet the Bloggers

As I mentioned before, I was thrilled to be asked to participate in Modenus' Blog Tour New Orleans. Modenus is a networking platform and resource catalog for the interior design community.  Design professionals and anyone else passionate about interior design can connect in their forums, find inspiration on daily blogs, Before & After submissions and live event coverage.  But really, it's so much more. Founded by former kitchen designer Veronika Miller, Modenus is really making a splash by forging deep connections between the design blog community, major interior design brands and professional trade shows. It's important to note that nearly all the bloggers associated with the various Modenus events such as Blog Tour (New York, London, Cologne, New Orleans) are professional working interior designers, kitchen designers or architects, and those who aren't have forged their own niche markets within the field. As professionals not only covering the business of design but also working "in the business" we are all the more passionate about great products that make our own lives better, our businesses better and also our clients lives better.

Each Blog Tour is focused on a city during a major international design industry event. In my case BlogTourNOLA is heading to New Orleans the week of April 16-20 where KBIS (Kitchen and Bath Industry Show) will be holding its annual show.  I attended my first KBIS last year when I spoke at the Window Fashion's Vision Expo which was co-located with KBIS. They will be there in Nola this year as well, though I won't be a speaker at the conference this year.  KBIS had apparently gone into a little bit of a slump over the past few years, but they've renewed and refreshed this year with a powerhouse marketing and organization team (including Veronika and Modenus) and it feels as if the entire design world will be there. Exciting!

Of course, we'll also be taking in the sites and sounds (and tastes - hello begneits!) of the amazing city of New Orleans. There are some wonderful design businesses there - I can hardly wait!
